The Prayer Shawl Ministry at St. Mary's.
Do you know someone who needs a tangible reminder of God’s love for them? Prayer shawls are for those who need celebratory or comforting enfolding. Some of the recent occasions upon which shawls have been delivered are: dad-to-be, high-school graduation, bereavement, hospitalization, and relocation. Recipients have been parishioners, friends of parishioners, relatives at a distance, mental health services families, and Christian Social Concerns clients – our shawls are made for all of God’s children.
We welcome additional knitters (or crochetters, weavers, etc.!) 1st Fridays, October through June, 1:30 p.m. in the Guild room. September is our Annual Salad Potluck Luncheon at noon. We are happy to teach knitting, and have practice yarn and needles available at the meetings. You won’t be required to knit only prayer shawls! Invite your friends, it’s free!
Please call the office with questions: 831 373-4441
Since our inception in September 2005 we have delivered over 240 shawls!
PRAYER OF BLESSING
Warming, comfroting, enfolding and embracing.
May this mantle be a safe haven...
a sacred place of security and wellness...
Sustaining and embracing in good times as well as difficult ones.
May you receive this shawl and be cradled in hope,
kept in joy, graced with peace, and wrapped in love.
Blessed Be!
